Many ECU students attended a march and rally today on campus in support of the legalization of marijuana.
The rally was held from 12 to 4 on Sunday. Students listened to a band, and had a cookout. They were also wearing t-shifts supporting their cause.
Organizer Jesse Mignogna said "the reason I want it to be legalized is because it will reduce crime, right now its controlled by gangs, drug cartels and terrorist organizations, you legalize it, you put it in the hands of law abiding corporations. You know it's also a freedom issue, live and let live, if you're not hurting anybody else, if you want to pollute your body with marijuana that's your choice."
While those students supported legalization, others we talked to on campus said they think legalizing marijuana could possibly do more harm than good.
