Legalize Marijuana Rally and March

Many ECU students attended a march and rally today on campus in support of the legalization of marijuana.

The rally was held from 12 to 4 on Sunday. Students listened to a band, and had a cookout. They were also wearing t-shifts supporting their cause.

Organizer Jesse Mignogna said "the reason I want it to be legalized is because it will reduce crime, right now its controlled by gangs, drug cartels and terrorist organizations, you legalize it, you put it in the hands of law abiding corporations. You know it's also a freedom issue, live and let live, if you're not hurting anybody else, if you want to pollute your body with marijuana that's your choice."

While those students supported legalization, others we talked to on campus said they think legalizing marijuana could possibly do more harm than good.

BoBo the 1 legged Clown, wellcome to my world. "another voter", I am stubborn on issues that I have "belief" on. I don't just go with the flow of the idealogue. I have convictions that are not easily swayed by attacks, names or situtations. There are people that created OSOC as there was not one prior to the Bush years. It is that point when you realize the nation has lost its mind by allowing progressive liberal nazis run the country and try to destory morality anyway they can. I see and hear more about protecting muslims in America than I do protecting service man. So, if you do not like what I post, don't read it, tough if you do and don't agree. Thanks Rebecca, I sent a nice letter to all in government about not approving HR 1380 in NC until there was clear, defined, enforcement. I know you are part of the lobby, although I am accused of being paid as a republican troll, I am a registered democrat....now go get a nice big glass of koolaid...enjoy!

Check out the latest NC News on HB1380. http://news14.com/triangle-news-30-content/top_stories/?ArID=625745 The NCCPN delivered over 3000 signatures to Speaker of the House Joe Hackney's office Wednesday May 12th. We will not stop until we get this done. We are gaining legislative support but need more intelligent people like the man who said he had published research to get involved with our licensed org. and help to lobby our legislators and NC citizens to register to vote. We will be actively lobbying for supporters of this bill , and will publish a list by district before the Nov. elections so cannabis/commercial hemp supporters will know who to vote for. Join our mailing list at www.nccpn.org.

For OSOC You provided a logical cogent argument to a group that is neither logical or cogent.

Yes, OSOC, Gasbag. You have an inflated view of yourself and your opinions, and no regard for the opinions of others.

Worse than spin is the ignorance that spews from some mouths. Cocaine, comes from the Coca plant. Opiates come from poppies. Learn your darn subject before you claim to know it all.

OSOC: trying to have an intelligent, rationale discussion with you is akin to doing so with my beagle. Yes, alcohol is far more physiologically and behaviorally toxic vs. THC. This is not even debatable and only an obstinate person incapable of ever conceding a point about anything would argue otherwise. You seemingly believe that you have all the answers on every subject as I've never witnessed you concede an inch on any topic at any time. That is not the hallmark of honest, humble intelligence. It's the hallmark of a blowhard. You state that I have "not done my research". OSOC: you won't believe me, and heaven knows, you'll NEVER admit being less knowledgeable about anything to anyone (it is a character defect of yours seemingly), but I have not only read the research, I have actually done some of it and have been widely published as such. No, that's not bragging or claiming superiority (I have many faults), that's the byproduct of a medical school and practice and earning my pay.

Prescription drugs are so much worse than Marijuana. Worse, they are more available to kids all they have to do is look in the medicine cabinet. Maybe it is time to just tell the truth about the real dangers of drugs, google prescription drug deaths and then see how many deaths you can find from Marijuana. Douglas, I getcha, you are right on the money.
