Bulldogs Headed To World Series

Winterville - The Pitt Community College softball team won game two today, 3-0, over Spartanburg Methodist College to earn the 2010 Region X Conference Championship and a spot in the NJCAA Softball World Series later this month in Utah.

PCC right fielder Melissa Avent, who broke her left leg in game one of the tournament, was named the Region X Tournament MVP. She also made the All-Region Tournament Team along with teammates Elizabeth Massey, Kristen Garner and Charity Watson.
