Suspected Car Burglar Caught After Police Chase

Police say they've solved several car break-ins with the arrest of a Greenville man.

Wilbert Little is charged with two counts of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, larceny, attempted breaking and entering into a home and carrying a concealed stun-gun.

Police say Tuesday morning they were conducting surveillance in the Charles Boulevard/Oakmont Drive area due to the increase of car break-ins. Detectives saw Little looking into the windows of several different cars. As they approached him, police say Little ran.

After a short foot chase he was caught around Hyde Drive. Police say on Little they found things taken from two vehicle break-ins on Breezewood Drive and Turtle Creek Drive. He's also been charged with trying to break into a home on Wyndham Circle back in March.

Police say more charges are likely against Little as their investigation continues.

Well I am new to this area and I do have nice things that I paid for by working honestly and would hate to have someone breaking in and destroying or taking it. I am not really too sure about the GPD, but evidentially they are pretty good cause they caught this guy. I'm sure there are many more and he probably wasn't acting alone. But I am glad they were on their job cause I am in the area and thank God my family and I were not harmed. Great job GPD keep up the efforts to get the criminals.

To "Me",4-21-10 7:53 PM: Oh really? Then by all means, become a law enforcement officer yourself. However,I'm betting you won't. It's far easier to stand safely on the sidelines and criticize than to actually do the job.

I still have no respect for the GPD. Anybody can do their job.

"A chase over a car burgler...really?!"..... key words in the story... FOOT CHASE! I bet if it was your house or car that was being broken into... you would want him caught, right? Good job, GPD!

You people are ridiculous. You hoot and holler when someone gets away with robbery, yet piss and moan when they chase a car burglar. If you have a problem with the lenient punishments criminals face these days blame the judges that you elect not the police. The police have no authority over what happens to the perps after arrest. Some of you people really need your heads examined.
