Greenville Robberies Under Investigation

Two robberies are under investigation in Greenville, one where shots were fired.

Police say two suspects, one armed with a semi-automatic weapon, robbed a woman outside the Wendy's on Arlington Boulevard around 2:30 Saturday morning.

The victim was leaving work when the two suspects demanded money. She said one of the suspects fired a shot near her foot. The victim then gave them her wallet before they took off.

Several hours before that robbery police say the Walgreen's on South Memorial Drive was robbed.

The clerk says the suspect demanded money from the register, jumped the counter and slammed the register on the floor--breaking it open and grabbing the money before running.

The suspect was last seen riding a bicycle north on Bancroft Avenue from Farmville Avenue.

Too many bleeding hearts who think crime is a result of social injustice. Poverty or race are not the reasons that someone commits a crime. We are creatures of free will. Folks, a criminal is a criminal-the life of crime is another equal opportunity profession.

What we need, the entire country that is....is to return to the old west days when we all carried side arms and if some idiot wants your cash, he'd have to out draw you for it. If this country took swift, severe action against criminals, we would not be in this mess but it has gone on so long and so deep there really is no fixing it at this point. I hope I get approached in a parking lot by someone wanting to rob me. The headlines will read a little differently on that one. I not only own guns as I am allowed to do so by law, I also routinly practice with them and always have at least one close by.

Let's see...When I call the plumber, the pipe gets fixed. When I call the landscaper, the grass gets cut. But when I call the cops, well you know the rest of the story...

I want to know how you think it is a black person. A white man was caught robbing the mini mart. So the black man was trying to keep him down huh? It has nothing to do with the fact he is on medicaid and foodstamps.

Lawd have mercy! If only we would have named the new park after "Dr." Martin Luther King we would not have had this problem! Let me guess, it's the white man putting the black man down, right? It has nothing to do with the fact many thugs are bred off of medicaid and food stamps (Govment' gonna' take care of me.) I've seen "Precious," I know how it goes.

U are sooo right. The wimps writing parking tickets to students and calling their buddies with tow-truck to take their vehicles in. TOO scared to check crime.
