Two Men Charged In Cocaine Investigation

Two men now face cocaine charges after a one-month investigation by a drug task force.

Greenville police say 22-year-old Jake Tilley of East 13th Street and 19-year-old Benjamin Fugate of Holly Street were arrested.

Police report they seized 50 grams of powder cocaine during the arrest. That amount of cocaine has an estimated street value of $5,000.

In total, during the month-long investigation, lawmen say they confiscated 106 grams with a street value of nearly $11,000.

The Greenville Drug Task Force is made up of law enforcement officers from the State Bureau of Investigation, Greenville, Pitt County, Winterville, Farmville, Lenoir County, Kinston and Wayne County.

Tilley is charged with six counts of trafficking cocaine and six counts of conspiring to traffic cocaine.

Fugate is charges with three counts of trafficking cocaine, one count of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine and one count of felony possession of cocaine.

Tilley’s bond was set at $1,000,000. Fugate’s was set at $500,000.

If your gonna a condemn a whole group of people because of one persons bad actions that's not right you don't even know people in THETA why not just say every one at ECU is a bad person or drug dealer with a coke addiction. Also at the time of his arrest he was a inactive member who didn't pay his dues who ever said ECU does not have a drug problem clearly is in their own world there is a lot of drugs at ECU coke Oxycontin ecstasy and weed is very easy to get. if there wasn't a drug problem there would be no task force

ECU will not clean up their act because the ECU doesn't have a drug problem. Just ask them. They'll tell you. The Greenville Drug Task Force is going to make ECU look bad one day soon and then the chancellor and chief of police are going to have to answer why they didn't do anything about the drug problem that they "don't have". My advice check your school your children go to. It's not such a bad thing if you see a lot of drug arrest at the school, at least that means the police are doing there jobs instead of sticking their heads in the sand and denying the problems.

The Fugate boy is on the left and I have a comment to make about the frat that he belongs too, Fugate graduated with honors from high school etc., now we all make our own choices but I just saying the problems began with the frat, not the other way around, overall i think ECU needs to clean up and get its act together... I really want to say alot but I dont want to argue with anyone...

How much does it take for our judicial system to put criminals behind bar? Tilley was charged and convicted of selling drugs not too long ago and all he got was 2 year probation. Additionally, has been caught selling drugs on two separate occasions while still on probation. Not to mention all the other charges and convictions going against him: such as burglary and larceny, DWI, DWLR, assault on a female, violation of protective order and more.. He is also a suspect in car vandalism. What is it going to take to put this guy behind jail???

Rich How do you know I am a black person? And my point is that blacks get bashed alot more than whites on this site. For the past few weeks there have been more whites committing crimes in Pitt and surrounding counties than blacks, but less comments and less exposure. Or some of you will say he is innocent until proven guilty. And you never stop commenting and using the race card on the story about the uniforms which is just truly pathetic.

You missed my point, I was arguing with a black person who was calling WITN racist for not posting these two idiot's pictures with the initial article. This person has such a huge chip on his/her shoulder about race that they believe WITN left out the pictures because of a racist conspiracy to cover up the fact these suspects were white. You had good points by the way otherwise. Glad to see at least you are on the same page as me. Go look at the anon comment on April 15 at 824 and you'll see what set me off.
