Shots Fired During Armed Robbery

Shots were fired during an armed robbery Monday night in one Greenville neighborhood.

Police say three people were robbed at gunpoint while inside their home on Dorothy Lane around 9:45 p.m. One of the victims ran and was chased by the gunmen, who police say fired multiple shots at the victim. The bullets missed, but did end up hitting a home on Perkins Street.

Police say their investigation shows this was a drug related robbery, with the gunmen only getting about $100 in cash. Anyone with information is asked to contact Pitt-Greenville Crime Stoppers at 252-758-7777.

If the law-abiding citizens of this state would take personal responsibility for their own personal protection, the thugs would take their "game" somewhere else. The police are NOT there to protect you--the Supreme Court has ruled on this numerous times. The police are there to investigate crimes AFTER they are committed, and apprehend suspects after they commit crimes. Honest citizens should be reaching for their 870's or 1911's FIRST, and THEN dialing 911 when thugs and criminals break into their homes...

This is another example of the law being to laxed. Take these little moron THUGS and have the Three Strike Law like California. Get these ignorant morons off the streets for good so decent citizen can enjoy life once again. Let the Greenville PD do their jobs with any force necessary.Parents you should keep these irrogant morons home. I wish one would confront me and I'm going to try my best to send him/her to Jesus. The only reason I don't kill one is its against the law. Citizens we can stop this.

I wish I had 2 weeks left in this town. These closed minded Greenvillians really get on my nerves. How many small towns like Greenville have this type of major crime problem? I'm going to say 0.

Awesome post Anonymous! EZU students, thugs, and locals who never left make up 88% of this towns population. I am going back to the real city of San Diego, CA where I feel much safer.

You know, based on the proximity to the airport, I'm really surprised that this doesn't seem to be a big deal to anyone. What if a plane gets shot? Think what that will do to the airport...

In most cases, and I stress most cases, you are safe in any city where you do right in this world. Every now and then, there is that senseless murder or robbery where the bystander is completely innocent. Look at the facts though people: If you're involved in a gang, expect a shooting. If you are involved in drugs, expect a shooting. If you have cheated on your spouse and they find out, expect a shooting. Human beings for the most part don't just kill unless they feel there is a reason. Moral of the story??? And this is the part that all of the thugs do not understand is that if you are a good person....good citizen...work hard and honest for a living, good things will happen to you and you will be looked upon in that way. I do believe though that my words will continue to lack any substance to any of these people. It's a shame.

Is there anything more common than the sun rising from the east and crime in Greenville?
