Teaching students the importance of financial literacy brought two top state officials to eastern Carolina Monday.
State Treasurer Janet Cowell and State School Superintendent June Atkinson teamed up to address this issue at J.H. Rose High School in Greenville during "Financial Literacy for Youth Month."
Teachers and state officials are also teaming up to try to make financial literacy a bigger part of basic education. From challenging the stock market, to learning how to maintain a good credit score, students were educated in subjects that become important as they progress into adulthood.
Cowell and Atkinson are making stops all across the state.
