Greenville Teen Shot At Birthday Party

A teen at a birthday party was shot in the stomach Saturday night, but police say he isn't helping with the investigation.

Greenville police say Corey Smith is at Pitt County Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say the shooting happened at the Bachelor Benedict Club on Wyatt Street around 11:00 p.m. Saturday night.

Police say the shooting was a result of an ongoing dispute, but say the victim is refusing to help officers with the investigation.

See for one hes not stupid. Obviously they wanted to hurt him. So sy if he does tell the police what happen then What? See his face on the news as a homicide victim like people really dont knw how it really is. And for the people saying dont give him medical treatment ur wrong cuz it could be your kids. Another thing the Police dont Protect u from nothing they get all the info. Get the people who did the crime and tell them dat u told them and everything so where the protection? Then u start getting threats not just about you but ur whole family. So if you dont know wat goes on dont say nothing or get a clue please!!!!!!

This is to "to WITN". It says right there in the article, Corey Smith. My opinion is that if the victim is refusing to cooperate, then close the case! Maybe pour a little salt in the wound and that'll change his mind! He probably knows exactly who the shooter is, and it's probably involving drugs or a girl

The kids are stupid because the parents have set an excellent example. The younger generation of parents (35 and younger) are so self-absorbed that the kids are either kicked to the curb and have to fend for themselves or shoved off on a grandparent or other to be 'raised' so the mama and daddy can go off and do their own thing. This is the way the kids grow up nowadays. They're selfish, immoral and have no/little loyalty to anything other than to the things that make them feel good. Granted, there are a few that are traditional, but they are very few. And I agree, if they don't cooperate with LE, they shouldn't be treated. Sorry

To the person that asked if "anything good comes out of Greenville?" Yes!!! Everyday I leave Greenville something good comes out. Along with all the other HARDWORKING MEMBERS OF SOCIETY that work in Greenville. It is what's left after we leave that is the issue.

It has to do with drugs or gangs. The cops should offer to put him in a witness protection program and move him to a place of his choosing, outside of Greenville.
