Pirate Fest Draws Large Crowds In Greenville

All things pirate were on full display today in Greenville.

The Fourth Annual Pirate Fest kicked off, complete with real pirate fight reenactments

Crowds were gathered at the town commons and had free roam of Evans Street to get a close look at the action. Some dressed normal others got in on the action, dawning eye patches, fake beards and a little more.

There was plenty of popular buccaneer food to eat, turkey legs, hotdogs, Philly cheese steaks, ice cream and funnel cake.

The street fair had several art displays in accordance with the Greenville Arts Council. Even a booth where you could make your own rum.

Organizers say the event drew a great crowd, and look forward to doing it next year

My family and I went Saturday and had a lot of fun. Food was expensive but that was to be expected. I did see the guy preaching as we were leaving. But my question is, what does Yankees and others from out of state have to do with this topic? I'm tried of reading these comments and seeing nothing but people arguing about Yankees and everything else. Get back on topic!

What does this have to do with Yankees?? Im from Ohio, and both Columbus and Cleveland have major festivals most weekends in the summertime. I thought this was a great event - would have been better had there not been a guy in the park preaching and yelling at everyone. At any rate, one sour apple did not ruin a fun afternoon!!!

My two-year-old daughter and my two younger sisters and I had a fantastic time at PirateFest yesterday! Like "a mom," I am also thankful that Greenville has tons of free stuff to do! Crime may be up, but these fun activities are increasing as well. :-)

This event is nothing but the greedy Pirate club seeking more money.
