Accident Snarls Traffic At Greenville Intersection

An accident Friday afternoon snarled traffic at a busy downtown Greenville intersection.

It happened around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of First and Greene Streets. The crash temporarily closed the Greene Street bridge.

According to witnesses, a Corvette convertible was heading down First Street and was struck in the side by a Ford SUV. The driver of the SUV says he had the green light but couldn't stop in time.

The man's wife was treated at the scene. The driver of the Corvette was shaken up, but appeared okay.

Wow. Must be a bad intersection for Corvettes and SUV's. Saw a wreck between a Corvette and an SUV here a couple of months ago (though... maybe it was 2nd and Greene?). Odd coincidence.
