Greenville Child Gets Her Wish Granted

A wish was granted for a Greenville 11-year-old Wednesday evening.

Anna Gray who suffers from a congenital heart defect and has been in and out of hospitals got to attend the new Miley Cyrus movie "The Last Song" with Author Nicholas Sparks.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation sent Anna and her mother to dinner with Sparks at his New Bern home and to the local movie premiere. Sparks is the author who gained fame with movies like "The Notebook" and "Nights in Rodanthe." He wrote "The Last Song" which inspired the movie.

I could not agree more with Susan. Knowing Nick and Cathy personally, they truly are wonderful people with a BIG BIG heart. It was such a nice thing for Nick to do for the Make A Wish foundation but more especially for Anna. Truly gives us all hope that there is still some love, compassion and kindness left out there in the world

Great to see something positive in the news today. If only we could stop all the crime and violence.... What does it take? Responsible parents who are not lazy is a good start.

Saw the movie tonight. Couldn't wait. I laugh some, cried a lot. The movie is almost as good as the book. What a wonderful wish to be granted to this child. I support the local "Dream Factory." This article made my day. I wish the news media would report one good story for every negative one. There is more good than bad in the world. We needed to be reminded.

Having had the privilege of meeting Nicholas Sparks and his wife Cathy several years ago in New Bern, I must say I am not surprised at his generosity in this case...He is truly a kind-hearted wonderfully talented person who personifies the best of humanity...Great story.
