Windsor Woman Faces New Fraud Charges

A Betie County woman is accused of lying and cheating people out of money by claiming she was a licensed investor.

According to Regina Peele's arrest warrant she's charged with obtaining property by false pretenses. The warrant says Peele told victims she could get a 10% return on their money; however, authorities say Peele is not a licensed investor in North Carolina and never provided that return.

Authorities say victim's invested around $80,000 with her.

This is not the first time Peele has been in trouble with the law. Greenville Police arrested her back in December and detectives say she bilked $600,000 out of investors in that case.

Peele has a court date in Bertie County Thursday and is due in Pitt County District Court later in April.

This is a very sad case. Now my thoughts are Bertie Co.is already a area that don't really have much to offer to the Resident's of this County. If you look around Bertie is a really Big county. To all Investor's that are investing. Why not invest in some things that will help the county.. Bertie need a Super Walmart ,a nice Hotel ,stores to help build this county up to make strong.. Oh lets not forget a New High School..We should not have to travel to another County to take care of our business. So what I'm saying invest in our county to make that shine. Not the individual..

I think Ms Peele is a very smart person that made dumb decisions. I think the admin. people of Bertie mainly the board of ed in this case are dumb people making dumber decisions. Lets clean house through the entire county...at least the elected positions in which we have a voice. Right now Ms Peele is getting paid by us through our taxes by way of the school system. Look at the people criminals deal with and support and they are the people we need to properly deal with....some of this money probably supported some of the elected peoples campaigns or is supporting them now.

Anonymous, crying won't help her, BUT PRAYER WILL. REGINA, hold you head up and keep keeping on. We've all done things in life that's not good, even Anonymous, some of us just didn't get caught. We can all tell that Anonymous is a total idiot by saying prayer does no good. Anonymous, remember God is watching and keeping score. No one on earth is perfect (NOT EVEN YOU)that's why we must pray and ask God to forgive us daily for our sins. GOD DOES ANSWER PRAYERS. Won't it be something if God did us the way we do others! Anonymous think about it. What if God punished you for everything you've done wrong.

WWJD, God isn't pleased with the negative comments people are making about this situations. God would have us to pray for her and the people that has been affected. Lets all come together each day @ noon to pray for her in this situation. I believe that's what Jesus Would Do.

Matthew 7:1 - "Do no judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judge, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. No one is perfect and we have all make bad chooses at some point in life. Although you're not caught up in this situtation, remember this could happen to your child or someone you love and respect. If you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all. Sometimes the things we say about others can come back to bit us. BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!

she may have visited our hall on several occasions (not sure) but she is not a pioneer or ministrial servant nor does she consider herself a member of the Jehovia's Witness congregation and she has certainly not been baptized in our Kingdom Hall. I think some information has gotten confused.

St. Paul Baptist Church has nothing to do with fraud. If she said that funds were invested into St. Paul it was not the truth. Please stop speculating. I believe justice will prevail.

I agree with you Brenda. We have to remember from the first article several months ago that she invested some of the money in St. Paul Bapist Church. They have a brand new church down Woodard Rd. If one is without sin, throw the the first stone, noone can. Maybe some in the neighborhood were jealous of what she had. Ones with authority in Bertie County have been getting over and frauding people long before Regina. There are three banks in Windsor and one is being built right now. For what? There are no jobs. Certain ones prevent businesss from coming to the county. The building of a Kingdom Hall should be the least of the county of Bertie worries. Come on.
