A Betie County woman is accused of lying and cheating people out of money by claiming she was a licensed investor.
According to Regina Peele's arrest warrant she's charged with obtaining property by false pretenses. The warrant says Peele told victims she could get a 10% return on their money; however, authorities say Peele is not a licensed investor in North Carolina and never provided that return.
Authorities say victim's invested around $80,000 with her.
This is not the first time Peele has been in trouble with the law. Greenville Police arrested her back in December and detectives say she bilked $600,000 out of investors in that case.
Peele has a court date in Bertie County Thursday and is due in Pitt County District Court later in April.
