Closing arguments finally got underway in the case of Vonzeil Adams late Monday afternoon.

Adams is facing charges that she was responsible for the murder of ten-year-old Christopher Foggs back in 2005.

The defense claimed that witnesses called by prosecutors all had a different stories and that there isn't enough evidence to convict Adams because it's not beyond a reasonable doubt that she was the one yelling at Jamal Greene to shoot.

Adams is the second of six people who are facing charges for the murder of Foggs. Greene was convicted back in 2006 for the boy's death.

Attorneys are expected to present closing arguments Monday in the trial of a woman charged with taking part in the murder of a ten-year-old Ayden boy.

Vonzeil Adams is on trial in Pitt County, charged with taking part in the April 2005 murder of ten-year-old Christopher Foggs in Ayden.

Adams testified Thursday that she never told Jamal Greene to grab the gun and shoot. Adams says she did go looking for a fight with some girls from the neighborhood and Greene who was her boyfriend at the time offered to give them a ride.

Adams also testified in court that she never knew her former boyfriend had any weapon with him. Prosecutors say a sword, teaser, and hammer were found in Greene's car. Prosecutors believe the actions of Adams lead to the death of 10 year-old Christopher Foggs back in April of 2005. Adams denied the accounts of some of the witness brought forth by the prosecution.

Jamal Greene, the only person convicted in the murder of Foggs had been called to testify and pleaded the 5th. A copy of his murder conviction testimony was aloud in and the Thursday’s proceedings finished with the jury reading it.

WITN will be in the courtroom for Monday's proceedings and will continue to update this story.

Vonzeil Adams suddenly becomes worried about her children when she is facing prison time? I do not care. When I was 22, I had my first child. My HUSBAND and I bought our first home at 23. Yes, I am going to throw the aspect of being married in my muse. I have two children, both, by the same father. I did not opt to sleep around and collect children like they were "baby momma" trophies. Ms. Adams is the epitome of what is wrong with society. Have another child, get another check. The sad part about it all, is that the children who did not ask to be here are the ones suffering. I do hope that Ms. Adams will remember Christopher Foggs during the course of her incarceration. Perhaps Christopher would have been the one to find the cure for cancer. We will never know. Because Ms. Adams opted to engage in senseless "baby momma" games...we have another bright, young man, lost forever...

I hope this opens the eyes of the other people that were involved. You took a child's life. You all had something to do with it. Even if you just showed up for the fight. What grown person allows a man to point a gun and aim and shoot into a crowd of people. Why wasn't anyone grown enough to keep their butts home. And tell the others to do the same. A mother has to go thru the rest of her life, knowing how it feels to have her baby's life taken early, just because you and your friends wanted to fight. I hope she is strong enough to sit thru every last one of your trials. Just so you all get the same time as her. You all deserve just that. I hope you all were grown enough to go around to her house at least once, an apologized for what you have done. I hope that you remember her and him on his birthday as well as his death day. I hope it eats at your brain while you are sleep and takes over your mind while you are awake. Until you do right by her. I am a mother.

Guilty by Association! She got what she deserved. She has been a wreckless individual for many years, dating back to grade school. Always instigating fights and arguments, running her mouth in other people's business, amongst a host of other things. She went looking for trouble based on what your "kid" sister sad and look at what happened. If they would all stop thinking they run the town of Ayden and get an education and a job, they wouldn't have time to be involved in the types of things people accuse them of. Also, to keep on committing crimes after the fact you were already charged with murder is ridiculous. There is definitely something pyschological going on with this woman.

Young people needs to think before they react b/c GUNS is no toy. She got what she deserves and she is not the first girl! to have a baby in Prison. She mightest well get over it and find someone to take care of the infant. I'm sure the dad is locked up or not the fatherly type. I'm sorry ,calling it like I see it.Maybe next time she will think b/f she reacts.
