A man impersonating a student is caught stealing belongings from the student recreation center on campus.
ECU police say Yayi Abouk Janney went through unlocked lockers and stole items from members.
They also say the 22 year old is not a student.
Even though everyone had to swipe cards to enter the facility, recreation center officials say the suspect was clever and would blend in as a student and go through items inside unsecured lockers.
Administrators say this kind of crime is why they ask members to lock up their belongings.
Authorities say they were able to id the suspect through surveillance video.
He faces financial card theft charges, along with larceny and possession of stolen property.
He's under a $25,500 dollar bond.
