On Saturday, March 27 and Sunday, March 28, 2010 cyclists from North Carolina and surrounding states will gather in Greenville for the 6th Annual Greenville Criterium Bicycle Races and Kid’s Ride. Races will be held from 1–7 p.m. on Saturday and 9 am–3:00 p.m. on Sunday. The course is closed to vehicular traffic, with the start/finish line located at 2nd and Evan Street in Uptown Greenville.
The beginner women’s races will occur at 2:50 p.m. on Saturday and 10:50 a.m. on Sunday. The elite men’s races will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
In addition to the USA Cycling sanctioned bicycle races, the closed Uptown Greenville course will be open to children of all ages on Saturday, March 27th at 3:50 p.m. for a FREE Kid’s Ride. The Kid’s Ride is sponsored by Priorities ABA, who specialize in behavioral consulting and therapy services for children with autism. www.prioritiesaba.com Safe Communities of Pitt County will be providing information about bicycle safety as well as performing helmet fittings for all riders
