False Rape Reports In ENC, An In Depth Look

There have been two reported rape cases on local college campuses in the past few months but authorities say both turned out to be false.

While those reports weren't true, Tracy Kennedy, an Assistant Director at the Real Crisis Center in Greenville says more than one hundred others in Eastern Carolina each year are very real.

Kennedy told us a new rape is reported in Pitt County every 2 to 3 days.

Since a false rape report was made at Pitt Community College in December, Kennedy has visited the campus twice to hold information sessions about sexual assaults.

Kennedy says most people think about 40 to 50 percent of rape reports are false, but national statistics show only about 2 percent turn out not to be true.

These young "ladies" will consensually sleep with a guy. Then the guy will not call them or talk to them. Then the "lady" gets upset. Then a "Rape advocate" will convince them they didn't consent days later. Then a "report" is made. The system then is designed to assume guilt and the guy must prove his innocence. These "Rape Advocates" make a living assuming all guys are guilty; the more "guilty" guy; the more secure are there jobs and government grants. As long as there is a "rape crisis" then these "Rape Advocates" jobs are secure. The have a stake in assuming all guys are guilty that are accused. Where date rape does occur it is definitely false more often than not. I do not want to take ANYTHING away from actual victims and especially victims of violence. It is a terrible crime. But innocent guys should not be sent to prison to assure jobs for "Rape Advocates".

It is grossly erroneous to say that only two percent of all claims are false. That assertion was long ago debunked, and it is astounding that it is still being posited. The website False Rape Society reports on this issue in depth on a daily basis. See, for example, "Until Proven Innocent," the widely praised (praised even by the New York Times, which the book skewers -- as well as almost every other major U.S. news source) and painstaking study of the Duke Lacrosse non-rape case. Authors Stuart Taylor and Professor K.C. Johnson explain that the exact number of false claims is elusive but "[t]he standard assertion by feminists that only 2 percent" or sexual assault claims "are false, which traces to Susan Brownmiller's 1975 book 'Against Our Will,' is without empirical foundation and belied by a wealth of empirical data. These data suggest that at least 9 percent and probably closer to half" of all sexual assault claims "are false . . . ." (Page 374.) Check out False Raoe Society
