USA, USA, USA! ENC Gets Excited About Men's Hockey

It was quite a win for team USA Hockey on Friday. Many people in Eastern Carolina watched the game on WITN.

Hockey fans are getting excited about America's chances to grab the gold medal

Hockey fans around Greenville watched team USA score six consecutive goals against Finland in the semifinal game.

TV's at both Tiebreakers and Buffalo Wild Wings focused on Olympic Hockey.

The last time team USA won the gold is when America beat Finland after the infamous "miracle on ice" game against Russia in the semi-final round during the 1980 Olympics.

But, fans here in the east are hoping for a win this year.

The gold medal game can be seen on witn this Sunday. Game time is scheduled for 3:15 PM.

Who cares? A bunch of rich guys get free publicity and living the good life at the expense of Americans, and American Corporations. It is just an excercise in commercial explotation. Do really care if the USA beats Eastonia in women's curling??? Your dollars go to support such nonsense. They live in posh condo/s, get the best of athletic facilities/coaches/trainers and then reap the endorsement dollars afterwards. Not inteterested. With this countries money and population, we should win everything anyway. But as I said--who cares.

the only things fun about hockey is the power play and the fights. Other than those two points, it is a slow and cold game.

Canada will be fired up! This game should be fun to watch. If the US wants to win, we can't let them take 45 shots on net like they did last time. GO USA!!!

You might want to check your dictionary for the meaning of infamous. The "Miracle on Ice" is probably only considered infamous in Russia.

I am just happy that Canada has managed to claw its way back from the loss to the USA in game one and have a chance to go for the gold on Sunday. I expect both teams will be in for the fight of their lives. It should be the most exciting game ever. I know we all will be screaming for our respective teams.

Dude, I just saw Dave Marcheskie's peice on USA Hockey, it got me all juiced up. I can't wait for Sunday when TEAM USA will BEAT those Canuks. Why buy Molsen and Canadian Maple Syrup when you can drink Busweiser and buy syrup from Vermont! Besides giving us moose and John Candy, USA is better! Awsome stuff Dave, I think I might go to BWW's for the game, who else is down?

Well as a Canadian transplant here in good ole Greenville I feel the USA team has greatly improved and should not be taken for granted by the Canadians but I really think in the end that Canada will win in a really close game. If anyone has never watched a hochey game this would be a good one to watch!!

I thought winning the game was secondary to a couple of good fights.
