PCMH Recognized For Stroke Care

A hospital in the east has earned the American Heart Association's highest honor for stroke care quality.

Pitt County Memorial Hospital was presented with the ''Get With The Guidelines" stroke gold plus performance achievement award.

The award recognizes PCMH for maintaining high-quality stroke care for at least 24 consecutive months.

In 2007, the joint commission certified PCMH as the only primary stroke center in eastern North Carolina.

PCMH's certification was renewed in 2009.

Congratulations ! Speaking from someone who has experienced the exceptional quality of care given to stroke patients from the PCMH Stroke Center - the Center is well deserving of this award. PCMH should be very proud of their accomplishments in this area. As a resident of the local community and a stroke survivor, I sing your praises at every opportunity I am given.
