Dunkin' Donuts Held Up

It wasn't a very sweet finish to Valentine's Day at a doughnut shop in Greenville.

Greenville Police say they are investigating an armed robbery at the Dunkin' Donuts at 631 South Memorial Dr., which is near Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

Police say a man with a gun held up the employee at 8:45 p.m. Sunday. He fled on foot with cash.

No one has been arrested.

I am SO sorry! I can't say that I understand how you feel b/c that hasn't happend to me, yet. I work nights, here in G'ville, and often have to leave my place of business to go outside. The gas station 3 buildings down has been robbed twice, a worker being shot both times! A co-worker of mine walked in on the gunman fleeding and the gunshot victim holding a bag to his stomach. I felt safer living in DOWN TOWN Atl than I do here. At least the PD where innovative. The PO here just sit around in their cars. No bikes, no walking around the shady areas where crime rate is high.

Melissa, I am a grad student at ECU, and I sympathize with you. The crime in Greenville has gotten out of hand. Nobody should have to fear for their safety when working an honest job. I suggest you take some self-defense classes, or if you are 21, get a Concealed Carry permit and some training. I can recommend some excellent instructors, and would even consider helping you pay for your training, as a gift from one student to another. Self-defense is a HUMAN RIGHT, and nobody deserves to be victimized like you were. But remember, you Personal Safety is your Personal Responsibility...

Well, that begs the question: "What exactly does a thug look like?"
  • by dj on Feb 16, 2010 at 06:24 AM
I know this will start something but the NYPD have for long time-profiled those that look like thugs are stopped at random, either walking or riding in cars at nite. The crime rate there has dropped. That is what needs to be done here if they look like thugs stop them and search. The heck if the community yells-to bad

To Melissa and Valerie, I can identify with yall. I DID HAVE A GUN pointed in my face in late '94, not a robbery, but an act of violence. I'm alive, so you people need to be more sensitive!! Hasta Manana!!

I stopped a view times there to have me some Donuts and some coffee. The employee's there are very unfriendly and rude. I never will go there again

I will hopefully be fine. Thank you to all of you that have been defending me. I really appreciate it. However, those of you who think this is a joke, are sadly mistaken. You should really chill out on the donut jokes and comments about employees at Dunkin Donuts. We had several robbery threats and someone stole a saw from a construction worker one night. Greenville crime is no joke. I should know.
