Pitt County Crews Gear Up For Snow

Once again people here in the east can look out their window and see snow. And that means DOT workers were busy getting ready for jack frost once again.

Hooking up the hose to the truck, filling it up with salt brine and hitting the roads, those are the three steps DOT truck drivers have been repeating the past couple weeks around Pitt County.

Crews spent Friday spraying primary roads with the salt brine in a routine fashion.

Another routine were the people pickuping up milk and bread at the grocery stores.

DOT officials say they had to reorder 750 more tons of salt.

They have gone through the 600 tons of salt within the last month.

Sure hope they do a better job this time. When cleaning main roads, they shouldn't leave the snow piled up on other streets, like GREENPINE rd.Clean the roads that's what my tax dollars are for(city, county, state, what they rather spend money on speed bumps)clean my road or better yet don't leave the snow piled up at the end so people want have a hard time getting out
