UNC President To Retire

University of North Carolilna President Erskine Bowles announced Friday morning that he is retiring at the end of the year.

Bowles has served as president of the multi-campus university system since January 2006.

From 1996 to 1998 he served as President Clinton's chief of staff and then made two unsuccessful bids for U.S. Senate in 2002 and 2004.

    Mr. Bowles was also a successful investment banker. However, with those glasses he looks a little like tweety bird.
