East Carolina University police have a warning after several smash and grab robberies on campus.
ECU police say they've all happened at the Reede Circle commuter parking lots off 4th and 3rd streets. They say since the start of the semester -- at least five cars have been broken into. In every case, the windows are either busted out or soft top vehicles are cut open.
According to police, the thieves are looking for speakers, cellphones, chargers and anything else of value left inside vehicles.
Authorities say they've increased patrols in those areas, but still hope tips will lead them to the people responsible.
Police urge drivers to make sure their parked cars are locked and valuables hidden.
