Drive Up Robbery Foiled When Employee Walks Away

An attempted armed robbery was foiled when the employee simply walked away.

Greenville police say someone tried to rob the drive-thru at the Taco Bell on South Memorial Drive Tuesday night around 7:15 p.m.

Police say the man drove up to the window and pointed a silver handgun at the employee. The worker asked if the gunman was serious and he nodded his head. Police say the employee then left the drive-thru window area. The gunman then drove away.

The vehicle is a mid 1990's tan or champagne Chevy S10 extended cab pickup truck with a North Carolina plate. It has a Pitt Community College sticker on the driver's side rear window.

Anyone with information should call Pitt-Greenville Crime Stoppers at 252-758-7777.

No, if he had an ECU sticker, he would have been buying a case of Miller, not burgars or tacos.

Good grief... how many times must these employees at Taco Bell have to endure armed robberies... I'm shocked that the Taco Bell in Kinston got robbed. Is Kevin still the manager/ co-owner.. He used to be REALLY careful like having an off duty cop there at night and protected every dime. He'd even kick people out if they went and got their kid a happy meal at Mcdonalds then came into Taco Bell to eat. He would even have you arrested for shop lifting if you shared a soda....

No, if it had been an ECU sticker, he would have gone to McDonald's.

If he had an ECU sticker, he would have gone inside.

"Anonymous" and "Cactus" need to lay off of the negative school system comments. It is disgusting to hear people constantly bash the school system when they have turned out so many individuals who have made good choices in life.

The drive-thru clerk did a great job keeping her nerves together and getting a good look at the suspect's vehicle. Now, if they would just get my order right....

I rather agree that our school system is not doing a good job when some one is stupid enough to try to rob a drive thru. He/she must have graduated head of their class. Must have an IQ about the size of their shoe. This is almost funny except for being soooooooo stupid.

Come on. Seriously, stop trying to find fault with everyone's comments. There is nothing wrong with Williamston. Just a nice little country town. What's it ever done to you? You prob. live in thug-ville.
