Trooper Resumes Full Duty After Thanksgiving Assault

A state trooper who was assaulted Thanksgiving Day is now back on full duty.

Trooper Amanda Signs resumed road duties last week.

Signs was injured as she tried to arrest Robert Stocks while she was investigating a traffic accident in Pitt County.

The trooper returned to work a couple of weeks after the assault, performing desk duty. She was allowed back on patrol last Wednesday.

Stocks remains in the Pitt County jail on a $200,500 bond. He has a March 17th court date.

To the ignorant person that said all state workers are lazy because of some ignorant "federal" employee embezzling money from Beaufort Count, this is a state worker. So, the next time, you need a SHP, college professor or staff worker, school teacher, or detention officer, you will think twice about saying state employees are lazy. Troopers like this put their lives on the line everyday for ignorant fools like yourself.
