Clerks Forced In Restroom During Robbery

Deputies are searching for a gunman who held up a convenience store Monday night in Pitt County.

The robbery happened around 10:25 p.m. at the Trade Mart on Highway 43 North. Deputies say the lone gunman came into the store and demanded money be put into a bag. He then made the two women clerks go into a restroom.

The women stayed in the restroom until the gunman left and they felt it was safe to come out. The gunman got away with a small amount of cash.

The robber is described described as a black man, 5' 4" to 5' 8" tall with a medium build. He was wearing a dark colored zip-up hoodie, black pants, dark colored shirt and his face was covered with a mask that had eye holes in it.
