Man Stabbed In Chest After Waffle House Fight

A fight at a restaurant early New years morning has left one man in the hospital after being stabbed.

Greenville police say Terry Pugh's injuries do not appear to be life threatening. The 23-year-old from Grifton was stabbed in the chest at the Waffle House on Greenville Boulevard around 2:50 a.m.

Police say he was taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital by a friend and that the victim could not provide a description of the person that stabbed him.

Anyone with information on this stabbing should contact the Pitt-Greenville Crimestoppers at 252-758-7777.

No, actually I already live in such an area and am working to improve that situation. It's a matter of comparisons, which you seem to have missed. No one told you to stay where you don't want to be either, so feel free to do as you wish as well when you're able. Believe me, I'm not encouraging you to stay there or anyone else - I've made that plain. lol Incidentally, if you could care less about me then you shouldn't have anything to say to me in reply.

Audra.. if you want to live in a city full of crime and drugs by all means do, I could care less about you. But I don't want my wife and kids living in these conditions. And trust me, as soon as my wife completes her PhD we are leaving GV. I have lived in Raleigh, New Bern, Greensboro, and I've had work projects with durations of 3 months to 1 yr in Atlanta, Seattle, Corpus Christi, Charleston, and countless other cities. The problem I have with GV is there's no accountability or actions taken from our leaders.

Mac... Y'all waited almost 3 hours for a serious crime? I'm impressed, actually. It was New Year's eve... I mean, I sat here at my computer counting the shots fired from all different directions within blocks of my home. Nine here, 14 over there... 5 more... 6 or 7 there... Don't tell me that all those bullets landed harmlessly in a field and didn't cause any damage or harm - and that's just in the Inland Empire. I don't even live in L.A. county anymore (that's part of why!). What are you crying about? You're worried about Greenville going 24-48 HOURS without a violent crime, and I live in a region where we can't go that many MINUTES without one. :-P Please. I'm with Chris @ 6:42pm - I'll come help you hold the other side of that farewell sign.

round these parts we dont take kindly to crimeenals and thugs. we dont want to roll over and let them take over like they do out in the big cities. you go back and live in one of them there big cities and deal with the 'real' crime, doesnt seem like theres enough action out here for you.

Waffle House chain stores should really look into having more than one customer entrance/exit. it's good the cops arrived as soon as they did b/c there no way out other than busting a window. Everyone was blocked in. It's sad that the world is coming to this kind of violence and it's happening everyday everywhere. It's not safe to go anywhere these days. I'm glad to have made it out alive. I wonder why there was not any mention of the guys with guns and why didn't the police search and arrest them for threats to kill people?

Is this a new record for Greenville?? 2 hrs and 50 minutes into 2010 and GV has a stabbing. Can GV go 24-48 hrs without a stabbing, shooting, or armed robbery??
