An update on an accident where two pickups collided, one bursting into flames, while the driver of the other was pinned inside.
The accident happened Tuesday on Hanrahan Road near White Line Road in the Ayden/Grifton area.
Hospital officials say one of the drivers, Keith Cox has been treated and released.
The hospital does not have a record of the the other driver, George Harrington, but Highway Patrol says he is still in the hospital.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Authorities say two drivers were injured after a head-on collision in Pitt County Tuesday.
It happened on Hanrahan Road near White Line Road in the Ayden/Grifton area. When emergency crews showed up, officials say they found one driver outside his pickup truck that had caught on fire.
Officials tell us the driver of another pickup truck was pinned inside and had to be rescued.
Officials say 30-year-old George Harrington was in the black truck and
41-year-old Keith Cox was in the white truck.
An East Care helicopter was at the scene but authorities say the two drivers were transported by ground to area hospitals. There's no word yet on their conditions or the cause of the accident.
