Searching For Safe Toys

There's nothing like watching your child open gifts on Christmas and then enjoy playing with the toys. But these days many parents in the east say they have to be extra careful about what toys they buy because they can be dangerous.

Two moms in Greenville say when they go to the toy shop they try to make sure they buy things that are age appropriate. They also try not to buy things that have little pieces that can be a choking hazard. Another worry is chemical toxins. So, they say they check recall lists often-- but still they say all the possible dangers make toy shopping even more difficult.

Experts say one of the best ways to make sure your buying safe toys is to go online -- find a list of safe toys and then buy off of that list.

Generally the better selling toys are also the safest. One of the best things you can do to determine a product is safe is read the reviews like on Amazon. If there are a number of reviews with no safety issues mentioned, you are probably going to be just fine. Best, John Marshall
