Masked Men Shoot A Man In Attempted Robbery

A hold up results in one man being shot in the east early Saturday.

According to the Pitt County Sheriff's Department the shooting happened at the 1300 block of Billy Loop off of NC 33 West.

Three men were standing outside of a home when they were approached by two men. One of them was holding a handgun and demanded money from all three.

When the men said they had none the suspects walked away. Lawmen say one of the suspects then turned and fired a shot striking one of the three men in the calf.

The suspects were said to have been wearing yellow bandannas across their faces.
