Drug Bust In Pitt County Takes $10,000 Worth Of Crack Off The Streets

Numerous complaints by residents prompted the Pitt Sheriff's Department to seek and get a warrant for the home of James Earl Jenkins.

Deputies say when they arrived they found 100 grams of crack cocaine which included 240 individually packaged dosage units ready for sale.

It happened on Friday evening at 102 Glenda Street in Greenville at the 63 year-old's home.

The estimated street value of the drugs taken off the streets is $10,000 dollars. Deputies say they also recovered $698 dollars in cash.

Charges: Trafficking in Cocaine (1) count, and Maintaining a Dwelling Place for Controlled Substances (1) count.

Bond: $100,000.00 secured and he currently remains in the Pitt County Detention.
