They were celebrating sports opportunities for people with disabilities at ECU as the 13th Annual Adapted Sports Day kicked off at the student center.
The event took place in Greenville as about 120 students and people with disabilities participated in things like power wheel chair hockey, volleyball and rock climbing among others.
The event brings together people with disabilities and students who are studying subjects like occupational therapy.
"Adapted Sports Day is a celebration of sport opportunities for people with disabilities and is all about showing this population that there is a way to participate in just about any sport," said David Gaskins, associate director of programs and marketing at ECU Campus Recreation & Wellness.
"It's about possibilities and providing a forum to learn and participate in activities which help people to improve their overall fitness, health, and well-being."
