NEW INFO: Head On Crash Sends Two To PCMH

A head on crash slowed down traffic on a busy Greenville street.

One lane in each direction on East 10th Street was shut down because of the crash for about an hour.

It happened around 11:00 a.m. near the intersection with Portertown Road. A SUV and a passenger car were involved.

Police say the driver of the SUV, Shirley Williams, was heading west on East 10th, and was turning into Sheetz. Police say she hit the oncoming car, driven by Doris Artis.

Police say both drivers were taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital, but there's no immediate word on the extent of their injuries.

Officers say no charges have yet been filed.

Walmart is not even there yet... ya can't blame Walmart or any other business for the way people drive - get a life and bring in the new Walmart!

Junk Yard and Mark, every wreck that happens where Wal-Mart is located is not Wal-marts fault. Is every wreck on Greenville Blvd. due to Wal-Mart being there? NO, its the people who don't know how to drive and are aggressive drivers. I've seen more wrecks at the trailor park entrance on 10th Street than at the existing business.

I can't wait for Walmart then I can open a junkyard on 33 and make a killing. If I can get some business partners maybe we can start an ER, junkyard, body shop, and lawyer office combination. What a joke, politics at its best.

This will be one of many accidents near or at that intersection. With the new planned Walmart just east of the site, some proper road and traffic planning better be done. I hope the victims are alright, but people need to slow down and get off their distracting cell phones! Every day I witnesss crazy people weaving lanes, while yacking on their phones.

Thank God no one was seriously hurt! I pray for a full recovery. Was Shirley just not paying attention or what?? Pay attention people and don't misjudge oncoming traffic...it's not worth the consequences.
