Mayoral Candidates Face Off In Debate

Students from one high school in the east are getting involved with local politics.

Candidates running for the Mayor of Greenville went head-to-head in a debate Monday night.

It was an event organized by the J.H.Rose High School greens, a civics club at the school.

The debate focused on youth issues as well as current local issues.

The candidates were asked pre-chosen questions as well as questions from the audience.

Uriah Ward, the civics leader at J.H. Rose High School says he wanted to get his classmates more involved with the upcoming municipal election.

Ward and the civics clubs will hold another debate for City Council Candidates Thursday night inside the lecture hall beginning at 6:00 PM.
