A roofer had to be rescued Friday afternoon, after one of his legs went through the roof.
It happened at a duplex on Paul Circle in Greenville around 1:15 p.m. as roof repairs were being made.
Greenville firefighters tell WITN News that the man suffered leg injuries and couldn't make it down the ladder. The fire department used a technique called a "ladder slide", where the man was strapped onto a backboard and slowly lowered down a ladder.
The man was taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
