With the November third election day just around the corner, the deadline to register to vote is almost here.
Mayoral posts as well as seats on city councils and town boards of commissioners and Alderman are up for grabs.
If you want to cast your ballot, you have to register to vote by 5 PM Friday with your County Board of Elections.
The director of the Pitt County Board tells WITN, that all you need is a proper form of id with your current address on it.
He also adds that if you miss Friday's deadline, you won't be able to vote at your home precinct, but there's still a way you can vote.
Dave Davis says, "With the new laws that were passed last year, if you don't make that deadline you can register and vote during One stop. You can't do that on election day, but at one stop you can register and vote. Just be sure to bring some form of ID with your name and current address on it, and we can process you and get you a ballot."
You can contact you local board of elections for times, dates, and locations of one stop voting in your county.
