A Pitt County ABC law enforcement officer, who has been on paid leave for more than a month, has resigned from his job.
Robert Daugherty resigned last Thursday, that's according to ABC chief James Sasser.
Daugherty has been on leave since August 14th as the SBI conducts an investigation, at the request of the district attorney. No one has released what the focus of the investigation is. Sasser told WITN News that investigation is continuing.
Daugherty had been an ABC officer for almost two years.
