ECU Student Government Association Want To Be "In The Loop"

What was billed as a protest turned into a peaceful sit in at an ECU Trustee's meeting at East Carolina's Heart Institute.

ECU police were on hand to make sure things didn't get out of hand.

ECU's Student Government Association members say they never planned a protest that would disrupt the trustees meeting -- instead -- they wanted to make it known that they want to be consulted on important new hires.

SGA members were upset because they felt they didn't have a voice when it came to a new a selection of one of the school's provosts.

Brad Teasley, SGA vice president says, "We want to be transparent with things. We want to be kept in the loop as to what's going on and show our concern like we were voted in office to be."

SGA members say they hope in the future their voices are part of the process.
