A Sonic employee trying to make the nightly deposit was robbed at gunpoint late Tuesday night.

It happened in Greenville at the First South Bank just before midnight.

Officers say 24-year-old Shaconda Perkins was making the nightly deposit when a man showed her his gun and demanded the money.

He took off and Perkins went back to the Greenville Boulevard Sonic and called police.

The suspect he was wearing all black and had a bandana over his face.

I have worked at a fast food restaurant in the past. We use to make deposits in the morning when the banks opened. Do they not have a safe to store the money until the next day? We can look for this to get worse as it gets closer to Christmas. My suggestion is to make the deposits in the mornings..the police seem to be too busy to escort everyone to do nightly deposits. Glad the worker is ok, hope the robber gets caught. This is why I no longer work around someone else's money, I didn't want to get hurt over some money that didn't even belong to me. My children need me..

First of all, who cares what color they are AGAIN, GET OVER IT. The problem is that fact that these sorry pieces of POOP are robbing people because they are too IGNORANT to get a job of their own and their parents gave them NO HOME TRAINING. They need a good ARSE Whooping from someone in jail or someone they try to rob to teach them a lesson. Yeah, making a deposit at like ASKING for it. NOT a good idea. Im glad she is okay though!

I didn't even have to read the full title and I guessed it happened in Gunville and I was right!! This is ridiculous. Why don't they list the color of the skin? Is it because, probability wise, it would be black? I think so!

not really sure whey they are making night deposits, no safe? I've done it elsewhere, we asked for law enforcement to be there. If they had resources. Doesnt hurt to ask, hey got an officer to meet me here for 30sec

Well now people who feel like committing a robbery will know what time and where to be waiting for the Sonic deposit. Come on!

With the economy so bad people really need to look at how and when they make there night drops. For starters no one should be making night drops alone. There should be 2 employees in separate cars with the 2nd person pulling in first and reconing the location with there cell phone at the ready.

I think that at least 88% of all the fast food joints and convenience stores in Gunville have been robbed at some point.
