Pirate Fans To See Parking Changes

The 43,000 people expected to go to the Pirate Football Game Saturday in Greenville not only face traffic congestion, there could be confusion about changes to where to park.

Construction is taking place at some of the athletic facilities at East Carolina University, including the softball field off Charles Blvd. near the intersection with Greenville Blvd.

East Carolina University is urging everyone without a reserved parking pass to use the remote parking lots at the Brody School of Medicine, near Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Climate-controlled buses will take fans to and from the stadium for $5, round trip. Parking there is free.

The parking lots open at 8 a.m. Saturday for tailgating.

WELL IT APPEARS TO ME THAT THE ADMINISTRATION AT ECU WOULD ACTUALLY RATHER NOT HAVE A SELL OUT CROWD AT THE GAMES. THEY WANT FOOTBALL TO BE LIKE BASKETBALL ATTENDANCE YOU HARDLY REALIZE ANYONE IS IN ATTENDENCE. PIRATE CLUB RUNS ALL OVER EASTERN CAROLINA TRYING TO SELL ECU AND GETTING PEOPLE JOIN THE CLUB OR OFFER SCHOLARSHHIPS. THEN GO BACK GREENVILLE AND ELIMATE AVAILABLE PARKING SPACES. ABOLISH PARKING PLACES TRYING TO DETER TAILGATE PARTIES. wHY DOES SO FEW PEOPLE THAT ARE IN CHARGE FEEL THEY HAVE TO TAKE MOST OF THE FUN OUT OF EVERYTHING AT ECU.AND DONT FEEL RESPONSIBLE FOR STUDENT SAFETY ON CAMPUS AND ABOUT TOWN. U HAVE DONE AWAY WITH JUNGLE THAT WIILIAMS PAID THE BUILD AND KEEP IT AS THE JUNGLE. NEXT THEY WILL WANT TO BAN STUDENT AGE PEOPLE FROM GOING TO THE GAMES. SO THAT THE PEOPLE WITH STIFF UPPER LIPS CAN HAVE LOTS MORE SPACE.....

I wouldn't park on the 50 yard line to see these two teams play.

Thank god I am fortunate enough to park in Elmhurst. Took lots of saving, but the spot is awesome. That being said, I love my PIRATES and would park @Krispy Kreme if needed. We all need to keep in mind this is temporary as we are attempting greater things. Are we a powerhouse? No, but we draw lots of fans, and it seems each year gets better and better. Skip, PLEASE STAY. Any coach with the last name "Holtz" knows his football, and I firmly believe you have been the 2nd best coach in ECU history. As a former player for Coach Stasavitch, he taught me more about life rather than football, so he was #1. Hit 'em so hard boys that they are looking through their ear pieces. This team is in your house, and make sure when they leave, they will not want to come back. Is it Saturday yet?

Unbelievable how any other day we park free at the mall. We will avoid this area completely if they set up charging to park at the mall. Boy Scouts or anyone...

Both of these teams are mid majors, awful, and unheard of.

To all of you bike riders where are you parking you bikes? To the dummy who thinks EMS can,t use 14th St. why not and don't you think 10th ST.or Greenville Blvd will not be faster. If you want to put in an Intrstate like the other schools have. we will not be trying to be inconvenient you but just keep thinking it's about you.let the games begin

Boy Scout Troop 826 will have parking available at Colonial Mall for the next 5 home games, simply follow the signs at the mall. The money raised will go to support the Boy Scout Troop and their activities

ASU fan...we'll see who's got a *sad face* when you are pedaling away ;) haha!! I agree, ECU should have some sort of bike route/trail as a more convenient way of getting around the campus especially. Either way....if your using the shuttle or you pay $100 for a lot and $50 for a pass to get through 14th street.....the money is not being wasted!! If you love Pirate Football....your going to do all that you can to enjoy yourself. Isn't that what it's all about? Having a good time and support our 2008 Conference Champs!! Come on ECU Fans.....Lets hear it!! PURPLE!!!!!!!!!

Get a life, people. The ball game is on TV, WITN as a matter of fact. Save money, save gas, get a better view of the game. Just turn on the TV and stay home.
