Greenville Pizza Delivery Driver Robbed At Gunpoint

A pizza delivery driver says he was robbed at gunpoint while making a delivery early Tuesday morning.

Chanello's driver, 19 year-old Marshall Thomason, told police he had just made a delivery at 2:30 a.m. and was coming down the stairs at 1512 Charles Boulevard when the suspect showed a handgun and demanded money.

After getting an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect left on foot.

Neo and Mike, I realize the "per capita" Greenville stats would look bad compared to others. That was not my point at all. Mike attempted to claim that NO CRIME exsisted in San Diego and I merely pointed out that they have 4 times the amount of crime as compared to Greenville. Sure on a per capita basis San Diego probably has over 1 million people living in the city which makes the crime per 100,000 seem small. My whole point is basically what Blake said, crime is everywhere. If you think this only happens in Greenville you are a fool. If you think San Diego has no crime, you are a fool as well. Besides the mexicans have taken over southern california and I have visited and seen souther cal before, nothing indicated to me that it was some sleepy little place where everyone left their doors unlocked and joined hands after dark for mass prayers.

Sorry to say Mike but you are WRONG! Look around the freaking country. So many worse things or MORE of the same elsewhere. It's the COUNTRY, not the CITY!

Neo, thanks and you are right! I look forward to many good years of living in Greenville to come. I just hope that the suspect is caught and brought to justice. This cannot keep happening. Imagine if it was your mother, sister, elderly grandma who had walked down those stairs of that apartment complex and came face to face w/ this monster who is pointing a gun at them demanding money and other things of value...What if it was a young family toting their newborn child down the stairs, or even up the stairs, and all of a sudden out of the dark this selfish thug comes out, points a gun at them and robs them?? I hope I never have to experience this. It makes me sick that there are people like this in Greenville who have no respect or value for human life. Get them OFF the streets!

To any and everyone who posts here or anywhere: PLEASE type where it can be read and understood if you want a point to come across. So many posts cannot even be understood so nothing gets accomplished but bickering.

Jenna, Kathy, Mike, etc, I didn't even have to check the paper. I just knew, because it is almost always the same old story. Kathy, same as Jenna, if all you can do is spread falsehoods, close the hole that the lies spring from. Reality is what it is, some things just are for no other reason than natural or cultural reasons. "Chris", you are wrong and "Mike" is right. If you are going to start throwing numbers around you should understand all of the numbers before you start. On a per capita basis, which is the only logical way to measure it, crime is higher in Greenville than in San Diego by a significant amount. Hey there is a bright side Mike, crime in Greenville is not as high per capita as the rate in the rural slums of central and western Martin County. Williamston, Oak City and Robersonville are giving Detroit, Washington DC, Philadelphia and the slums of northern New Jersey a run for the title of crime captital of America.

"Jenna", the robber wasn't white, spreading lies won't make your point. Even if he had been white though, it would have been the 1 in 50 armed robberies where the perp wasn't black. Now what? I'll tell you what. If you have nothing to add to the conversation but a lie, close the hole and accept reality. We have an african American crime epidemic. That's not opinion or racism, it is a fact proven beyond any shadow of doubt by the statistics. "Tiredofit", you can't seem to get past 'go' anytime something like this happens. It is a forgone conclusion, accepted by anyone with common sense and a sense of justice that regardless of color, if someone has committed a crime, they should be held accountable. You keep beating a dead horse by blathering about something that has been agreed upon for decades. Try to keep up, are you blind, does 2 and 2 equal 4 in turdofit land. We have one subgroup of people victimizing the whole of society and a bunch of morons who are afraid to point it out.

Chris, you aren't looking at the whole picture as far as statistics go. In 2007 alone, PER 100,000 people: 4.7 murders in San Diego 10.9 murders in Greenville, NC 23.5 rapes in San Diego 27.3 rapes in Greenville, NC 166.1 robberies in San Diego, CA 375.1 robberies in Greenville, NC As far as crime goes, per 100,000 people, crime in Gville is higher than in San Diego. I wouldn't cry either, if I had the chance to leave Gville! But I have to make the best of it. :) Can't everyone just be happy and peaceful??
