Latest Club Arson Prompts Questions

There are now three arson investigations involving businesses in one Eastern Carolina city within the month.

The latest case was at a local nightclub on North Greene Street in Greenville. Monday morning, fire investigators returned to the scene to dig up more clues at club G.A.S., formerly known as Club Dynasty.

Greenville's fire chief tells us the club went up in flames just before five Sunday morning, just a few hours after owners say they closed up for the night.

While it's unclear, who started the blaze, we're told there were several places of origin inside the building. This morning, the SBI K-9 unit from Wilmington arrived to help in the investigation.

While this is fire has been ruled arson, fire investigators can not say if all the incidents are related.

But they tells us the August fourth fire at the Fulcher Tire Sales and Service and the Colortyme Customs Wheels and Tires on Memorial Drive are being looked at together.

I would much rather my 16 yr old stay home..but she knows not go to "that side of the river" if she leaves the house!(which would be without me knowing)..so loosen the "Bible Belts"...all realistic parents of teens know we can't controle their every movements, just know we taught them right and trust them. It would be nice if we had at least a real cop sitting in the parked car at Sheetz once in awhile..to throw the crooks and druggers off.

Grown and Sexy, stupid name. I imagine it was rocket scientist who came up with that. I know desparaging on this seedy club culture garbage is politically incorrect, but I bet you'd struggle to come up with a combined 1000 IQ point if the club was packed full. Before prayers were answered and the house of idiots burned.

Another of Greenville's eyesores up in smoke. Does anyone else think we have an arsonist running amuck here? Once again, there will not be a named suspect or arrest. But it will be listed as a suspicious incident in the police report.
