A woman is dead and Greenville police are searching for her killer who they say is considered armed and dangerous.
Police say they're looking for Markelby "Scooter" Ward for Friday morning's shooting death of Lorraine Pearson.
The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. at 301 Raleigh Avenue where police found the woman with a gunshot wound to the neck.
A preliminary investigation shows the woman was having a dispute with someone she knew when she was shot. Pearson died at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Ward's last known address was on Fleming Street. Anyone with information on Ward should call Pitt-Greenville Crime Stoppers at 252-758-7777.
