An unknown pedestrian struck by a car over the weekend and finally identified on Monday, has died at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Ronnie Lee Battle was walking down Memorial Drive and Gum Road in Greenville Sunday when 28 year old Trenette Rankins struck him with her car.
At first, police did not have a name or address of the victim, until fingerprints positively identified him.
On Wednesday, Greenville Police say battle died from his injuries. We're told there will be no charges filed and the case has been closed.
