Greenville Police Chief To Talk With Community Today

It's a rare opportunity for people to ask questions of a city's top cop, but today some Greenville residents will get to do just that.

Greenville Police Chief William Anderson will be the focus of the program called "A Conversation With The Chief," this afternoon.

Chief Anderson's scheduled to share facts on crime in Greenville, discuss personal and business safety, along with answering questions. The event is open to members of the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce, and takes place at Brook Valley County Club at 4:30 today.

to all of you who are requesting anderson to be fired, you must be either new to greenville or white. anderson has done more as a chief than the last five put together!

Bryan- Just as a point-minorities can still be racist and/or work in racist programs. If these bicyclists are doing illegal things, my point is-why isn't the police doing anything about it? Haven't enough people been killed already?

I wonder if this meeting will get as heated as the city council meeting this week. Hey chief, your on your way out. You just don't realize it. The sooner the better.

To Chris: It maybe due to the fact that most of those bicyclist contributed to the accident. I know more times than not bicyclists are operating biycycles illegally in Greenville and everywhere else! I doubt it is due to the fact that the majority involve minorities. It would be a little backwards for a police force whos Chief officer is a minority not investigate crimes due to race. Don't you think?

I'd like to know from this chief why a person can drive a car and kill bicyclists and no charges get pressed-repeatedly. Is it because most of the people killed on bikes in Greenville are minorities? 6 dead this year and nothing happens, One drunken drive by shooting and hundreds of thousands of dollars gets spent protecting underage ECU partiers downtown....doesn't seem fair to me

We should ask him why Greenville police do not bother enforcing any of the bicycle laws. I am tired of these cyclists riding more than one person on a bike, running people off the sidewalks (they're not allowed on any o them), going the wrong way on streets, not wearing helmets, not using lights at night etc. Haven't there been enough deaths already this year of bicyclists for the police to care?

To Brandon: You need to get a real life! Chief Anderson is doing a good job for the City of Greenville and it's police department. Quit being a hater dude.
