Employees from one restaurant in Greenville honored their General Manager Wednesday afternoon.

Employees from the Denny's restaurant on Memorial Drive in Greenville planted a tree called a Forest Pansy Redbud in honor of their General Manager, Edwin Jimenez, Sr.

The 51 year old boss was driving home from the Denny's restaurant on Memorial Drive on July 11th when police say an impaired driver in a black Lexus struck Jimenez on his motorcycle, killing him instantly.

A memorial remains where Jimenez was struck on Wimbledon Drive, but the employees hope this tree will provide plenty of shade and grow as a reminder.

Greenville police say the driver of the black Lexus, Robert O'Neal, had a blood alcohol level of .13.

Police say O'Neal faces charges of driving while impaired.

I worked at Cracker Barrel in Kissimmee with Ed and I am so very saddened to hear this. He loved his family and his motorcycle and his friends and his Eagles very much. He was always against drinking and driving. I will miss you very much Ed. God Bless You and your family. I am crying.

When O'Neal closes his eyes at night I hope he see's Ed,I hope that he see's his children and his Grandchildren.O'Neal made a choice, Ed and his family did not have a choice, even if he does jail time he is walking around his family can still see,and talk to him, they say its his first offence,I say it's just the first time he got caught,we all make choices,we all must live with the choices others make. May the Lord of mercy on your soul Mister O'Neal!

IF it is the Robert O'neal that's in real estate, he is NOT from Belhaven. He's from California. BUT, not sure both names are quite popular (Robert and O'Neal)
