Local Police Going Door To Door To Educate Community

People in one community could get a knock on the door from the cops tonight.

The Greenville Police Department and Pitt County Sheriffs Office will be going door to door in Falkland this evening as part of Project Safe Neighborhood.

Officials say the goal is to educate people about gun ownership laws and encourage them to report gun crimes. The officers and deputies will be canvassing the neighborhood from 6 to 8 this evening.

How would anyone know if gun crimes aren't being reported? I had a GPD officer come to my door several years ago stating they had a identified my area as a problem area and would be increasing patrols and working with the community and some kind of task force was being formed to eliminate some of the problems etc. That's the last I've heard of it.

I think it'd be a great thing if the Greenville Police did this for somewhere like...Greenville. There was just a story on here yesterday about how crime is up in Greenville.
