Suspect Nabbed In New Bern For Greenville Assault

Police have nabbed a man wanted for an assault that left the victim with life-threatening injuries to his head.

New Bern police say they arrested Danny Edwards Thursday afternoon on Trent Road after getting a anonymous tip.

Edwards was wanted by Greenville police for assaulting Bobby Wayne Lewis at his home at Tower Place Apartments on July 17th.

New Bern police say Edwards was arrested after he hid in an overgrown field.

He's in the Craven County jail on a $10,000 bond.

Greenville police have named a suspect in an assault two weeks ago that left a man hospitalized with life-threatening injuries to his head.

Danny Edwards of Wintervile is wanted for assaulting Bobby Wayne Lewis at his home at Tower Place Apartments on July 17th.

The 22-year-old man was last seen around the New Bern area this weekend.

Police say the assault happened during a dispute between the two men.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Edwards is asked to contact Greenville police at 329-4809 or 329-4315.

Crimestoppers will offer a reward of up to $5000 for information leading to an arrest in this case and callers do not have to provide their names.

    Mr T. shut your pie hole. You know nothing about this situation. To everyone else posting the negative comments. Keep it to your self. This family has been through hell. You know nothing about the situation. Let it all work itself out. If he is guilty then so be it. Just stop with the negative comments.

    I am so glad that you think you know Mr. Danny. He may or may not have done it but there is one thing I do know. If he did't, then why are all eyes on him. Not to say that Bobby, did't have something to do with it like running off at the mouth or something, but Danny should have walked away from the hole thing. Danny is not a perfect angel. Everyone knows this.

    how are you even sure that this person did it you say he is a suspect but how much evidence do these people have?they always got to pin it on the first person with a record well i happen to know both them and they were damn good friends,there is no way dat he would of done dat to wayne!! and who ever that is talking bout punk shut ur mouth till you know everything!

    To Hey Levon, I appreciated your statistics. Finally someone talking some common sense. Who cares what race a criminal is when we are all victimized by the degenerate attitude and lack of respect for human life. I assume that your statistics take into account the percentage of each race to the population at large. Anyway thanks for the eye opening info.

    i know this kid. yes he has mad a few bad mistakes and obviouly has not learned from them. however stop with the race card.. if you all must know the victim was white// to all grow up and get a life.
