4G Coming To Some Eastern Carolina Verizon Customers

Good news for some cell phone users, depending on what cell provider you use.

4-G is coming to Eastern Carolina. Verizon is expanding its 4-G LTE network into Pitt, Beaufort and Martin Counties. Verizon says customers with 4-G LTE devices will see faster downloads and will be able to surf the web 10 times faster than Verizon's 3G Network.

"Introducing our 4G LTE network to Greenville will enable residents, small businesses and local government to take advantage of the speed and connectivity offered by 4G LTE technology," said Jerry Fountain, Verizon Wireless president for the Carolinas and Tennessee region. "We will continue pushing the boundaries with our 4G LTE network in 2012 to bring our customers the products and services for which our network is known."

In North Carolina, Verizon Wireless currently offers its 4G LTE network in Asheville, Charlotte, Durham, Fayetteville, Greensboro, High Point, Lumberton, Raleigh, Wilmington and Winston-Salem. As of March 15, more than 200 million people in 203 markets across the United States will be able to take advantage of 4G LTE on a wide variety of devices, including the new DROID 4 by Motorola and the DROID RAZR MAXX by Motorola.
