Remembering Les Garner

A ceremony to remember the life of a former Greenville mayor was held Thursday night.

Les Garner, who passed away in February, was honored by the Kiwanis Club of Golden K and the Salvation Army.

Garner was a member of the Salvation Army advisory board for 45 years and a past chairman. Awards from the Salvation Army and the Golden K club were given to Garner's family.

Garner also founded the first Golden K club in the world to which there are now 500 international organizations.
