One board of education has voted to tweak their county's uniform policy in schools.
The Pitt County Board of Education considered updates to the uniform policy Monday, including adding black and navy collared shirts. This year, students are allowed to wear white collared shirts, along with two other colors designated by the school.
The school board unanimously approved the proposed changes to the uniform policy Monday, according to Pitt County Schools Spokesperson Heather Mayo.
The update also includes "spirit wear," which is described as principal-approved school spirit wear, including club and organizational clothing and letter jackets.
